Welcome to the home of Advancing East Lancaster, the East Lancaster corridor’s transit-oriented development (TOD) plan. Take a look below to learn more about the project and how you can partner with us to advance this historic corridor.
Thank you for visiting the Advancing East Lancaster website
— and for staying engaged throughout the development of the East Lancaster TOD Plan. This plan will become the basis of the second phase of planning work led by the City of Fort Worth and its partners and stakeholders (including you). Phase 2 will determine needed transportation improvements along the East Lancaster corridor and beyond, including multiple street improvements, transit, pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements, and more throughout the expanded study area.
For more information on Phase 2 planning, visit the Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department at https://www.fortworthtexas.gov/departments/tpw .
Project Overview
The City of Fort Worth initiated a study in 2019 called “Transit Moves Fort Worth” to increase transit's role in the overall transportation system. The study identified priority corridors and recommended high-capacity transit. A 7.2 mile stretch of East Lancaster Avenue was one of the priority corridors for development and is the highest ridership corridor in the Trinity Metro bus network. We are working with the local community to draft a transit-oriented development (TOD) plan to deliver supported recommendations. We look forward to your input that can help build a connected, accessible, thriving and Advancing East Lancaster.
